Chelsea stood at the podium, peering down at all the guests that waited anxiously for her to begin the speech. Today is the day I worked so hard for. Today I should be happy, she thought. She looked toward the front row for the inspiration to help ignite that feeling of peace and success she'd envisioned so many times. Her husband and three beautiful children sat there proudly. Inwardly she sighed. After years of struggling to be the best at everything; the perfect wife, perfect mother, and a successful woman, it had all come to pass. She was here to accept her award as businesswoman of the year. She'd just renewed her vows after 20 years of marriage, and her children had all settled into who they wanted to be. Yet, all these accomplishments somehow didn't fill that void in her heart. There was no contentment and satisfaction. It just all seemed like it wasn't enough...
Every woman has her flaws... those little things that make us feel less than perfect. We come in so many different shapes, sizes, and personalities. Everday we struggle with exactly who we are. For decades, centuries even, it was branded into our head, our thoughts, and our lifestyle that we were sitting on the inferior end of the sexes. Our brains weren't "big enough" to handle the complexity of the world the way a man could. Our bodies weren't built "strong enough" to endure the hardships of life without a man to ensure our safety. We weren't "stable enough" to make rational decisions for our families, our community or any other influential matters. Fast forward hundreds of years and we live in an era where a female has a great chance at winning a presidency, single mothers are juggling school, a career, two jobs, and still having time to play mommy as well as daddy at home. We've risen and surpassed any doubt that we are more than capable of living independently in this world without bursting into tears or ending up six feet under from straining our tiny brains.
Where do I fit into all of this?
Everyday we're constantly striving to be something. Through each action we take, we're putting together the mold and foundation of exactly where we want to be, and who we want to be once we get there. There's always a woman that we're chasing. Like an exquisite, expensive outfit, we want to wear that woman. We want to it to be tailored to our every curve, nook and cranny. We want to feel comfortable, beautiful, and confident as we face the world each day, knowing exactly who we are. What if I said that you could not only feel like that woman, appear as that woman, and act like that woman, but you could actually be her.
What exactly does that mean?
Imagine waking up every morning feeling at peace, going through your day with a clear and focused mindset. All those what if's and one days that you'd stored in the back of your mind, picture them actually coming to pass. Imagine not being afraid to do the things you'd never allowed yourself the luxury of doing before. Think about those endless issues and paramountal stress factors keeping you from sleep at night... now envision them gone. This is the woman you want to be. Picture yourself twirling in your mirror, no makeup and wearing nothing but sweats, unable to believe just how beautiful you truly are. Beneath the trials of life, the misfortunes, bad luck, fears, difficult circumstances, and your share of setbacks is a woman waiting patiently to emerge. I've designed this blog in order for you to become the woman that you were always meant to be.
"Be empowered, feel beautiful, be in full control of your thoughts, yourself, and everything around you. Discover your true meaning of happiness, and live it." - Sweetz.
I am happy.
As long as there is breath within us, there will always be another battle, there will be those days of uncertainty and moments that we sit down and doubt everything we've worked hard to become. I believe in self-awareness. Everday there is something to be learned about ourselves, there is a situation and people in our lives that we are unsure of how to deal with. New thoughts, ideas, and adventures appear in our minds and we don't fully understand what to do with them. This blog is here to challenge the way you think, delve into your perception of life, overcome daily hassles and turn your dreams into reality. As a woman, it's hard enough to uphold society's standards, nevertheless trying to figure out exactly who we are and what we want.
"Regret nothing, for everything you've ever done has brought you here... to this moment"
